Board Meeting January 8, 2008
Attendees: Diane Kolessar, Ellen Hromada, Bob Whiteside, Steve Pumilia, Dave Markley, Beth Markley, Robyn Spearot, Barb Moyer, Eileen Robertson, J. Ost
Secretary Report:
In absence of Carol Mirynowski the minutes of December 11, 2007 were approved—Steve Pumilla (motion), Dave Markley seconded. Motion passed.
1st Vice President Report:
Dave Markley reported the following for the winter season:Barb Moyer will handle indoor guard chaperones.
Robyn Spearot will handle indoor percussion chaperones. Requests review of VP responsibilities in respect to props building and handling. 2nd Vice president's Report The next newsletter is to go out the end of Feb, request for any info. Treasurer's Report Bob Whiteside reported that we have lost the concession revenue expected for the Musical, though a portion($1) of advance ticket sales will go towards the music scholarship fund. Spring guard trip of 2007 partial refunds have been sent out, two addresses needed. (E Hromada will follow up). Contact needed for the bus company to assess the remaining balance. Part of Yankee fundraiser will need to be refunded due to inadequate delivery. Holding off remaining payment to company until resolution. Report presented—Motion to approve by Dave Markley, 2nd by Robyn Spearot. Motion passed. Budgets for indoor seasons have not yet been received. Co-Presidents Report The board has not yet received a request to help with the indoor show in April, Robyn Spearot will try to find more information. Request for funding guidelines, including funds held in escrow, are being prepared by Diane Kolessar to insure that request for funds do not come as a surprise. This is in response to an overdue invoice for the marching band that was not expected. Ways and Means
- Entertainment Books—this fundraiser will be closed by the end of the month. close to 100 books were sold
- Fruit Sale—last sale in February, flyers to go out on 1-15-08, Pickup will be 2-16-08 at the firehouse.
- Yankee Candles—Marge Nestor did a great job, considering she was still receiving packages on 12-24-07 and after. Due to late delivery by the company some items will be returned and money refunded;
- Hoagies—with the fruit sale.
- Spirit Wear—Barb Moyer will be taking over. Inventory will need to be done to assess need for reorders.
- Grocery Receipts—The Markley are getting ready to submit Acme tapes, may not have enough Rednars to submit.
- Ornaments—Made about $200 on the ornaments made by Meg Johnson.
- Gift Wrapping at Borders—Made about $ 95, not recommended doing again.
- Easter Candy—Forms to go out in January for pickup at Market Day night.
- Market Day—Has been going well—thank you Eileen Robinson.
- Wawa Coupons—some are still available—see Bob Whiteside
- Recycled Cartridges —The Markley are short 3 or 4 to send the box in.
- Social Event—Proposed date for Elvis night conflicts with the Post Prom Oldies night. Need to find another time to do this. Robyn and Steve will work on this.
- Liberty Tax Service will give $20 for any one that goes there and lets them know that they heard about it forms the Methacton Music Boosters. Flyers are supplied. These will also be place in Market Day orders.
- Would like to set up a Bowl-a-thon at a local bowling alley. More info to come.
- Clinic for guards to be held at Methacton. Need more info.
