Methacton Music Boosters
Board Meeting December 11, 2007
Attendees: Diane Kolessar, Ellen Hromada, Bob Whiteside, Carol Mirynowski, Steve Pumilia, Robyn Spearot, Dave Markley Secretary's Report- Minutes of last meeting (with correction to Beth Markley's name) was approved by Diane Kolessar and seconded by Steve Pumilia.
- The certificate of deposit matured and was re-invested in a 6 month certificate of deposit with Continental Bank at 5% interest rate.
- Net worth as of December 10, 2007 is $24,669.79. The Treasurer's Report was approved by Steve Pumilia and seconded by Dave Markley.
- A refund check in the amount of $949 was received from the travel company as a result of the cancellation of the color guard trip last spring. These funds together with the reimbursement of funds from the marching band for the coach bus will be refunded the color guard. Bob Whiteside to handle the disbursement of the refund checks.
- The Boosters will continue to collect money for trips for all music department groups provided appropriate documentation and accounting is provided by the specific music department member.
- No report.
- The next newsletter will be distributed in late February/early March timeframe.
- Diane Kolessar reported that a letter to Liz Francisco and Mrs. Walsh will be sent shortly inquiring as to the possibility of receiving money from the Spring Musical ticket sales to fund the music scholarship.
- Entertainment Books - this sale will be closed out soon. A financial report will follow. Approximately 90 - 100 books were sold.
- Fruit Sale - the fruit will not be delivered until 9:00 am on Saturday, December 15. Pickup has been pushed back to 11 am - 2 pm. Student volunteers are needed. Fruit orders were higher than last year's sale
- Gift Wrapping Fundraiser - this fundraiser will be held on Wednesday, December 12 if sufficient student volunteers can be found. The fundraiser scheduled for Sunday, December 16 will be held.
- Hoagies - the December sale was higher than last year's sale
- Market Day - this fundraiser is doing well with sales higher than last year
- Spring Fundraiser - due to scheduling conflicts, the date of the spring fundraiser was changed from Saturday, March 29, 2008 to Saturday, March 15, 2008
- Spring Musical - Carol Mirynowski to submit fundraiser application form to obtain approval to have a concession stand at the Spring Musical. Volunteers will be needed to run the concession stand.
- The by-laws need to be reviewed. A request was made by the presidents that the board review the by-laws and bring any suggestions for changes to the January meeting.
- The Indoor Color Guard group is holding a Spin-A-Thon. This fundraiser is separate from the Boosters' fundraisers and will not be handled by the Boosters.
- The Inn at Towamencin has been reserved for the Music Award Banquet for Friday, May 9, 2007. Recommendations for a DJ for the banquet are requested.
